The Gregorian calendar incorporates varying month lengths (28, 29, 30, or 31 days) and quadrennial leap years. A dedicated algorithmic engine converts dates into Universal Coordinated Time (UTC) timestamps to calculate exact durations without timezone distortion.

Total Calendar Days

Measures every consecutive 24-hour cycle including weekends and public holidays:

Total Days = (End Timestamp − Start Timestamp) ÷ 86,400,000 ms

Business / Working Days

Excludes Saturday and Sunday to reflect standard enterprise operating weeks:

Working Days = Total Days − (Weekend Saturday + Sunday Days)

Why should I toggle "Include End Day"?

By default, date difference measures the elapsed time (e.g. from Monday to Tuesday is 1 day). If you are counting inclusive event or rental durations (e.g., booked both Monday and Tuesday), toggle "Include End Day" to count both days (2 days).

How are leap years handled in year-month-day breakdowns?

Leap years containing 366 days (with February 29) are fully accounted for by our Gregorian calendar date math engine, ensuring exact precision down to the day.
